Moby Dick's 170th Anniversary

Revered by some as one of the greatest symbols of maritime stories, everyone has Moby Dick's fable in their childhood memories.

 

This year the legendary whale is celebrating 170 years since its original text by Herman Melville, published in London in October 1851.

 

The paddle was crafted to portray the colours and nuances of the whale, the boats, the sea, and the horizon of the epic battles to capture the beast.  The skin pattern and eye of the whale can be seen in the front blade, clearly resembling the animal's shape and colours through the water.

 

This enigmatic character captures the attention and claims the limelight with its colourful designs and copper metals and oxidation. A collectors must-have for decorating their set of mythical artefacts.
